In an attempt to determine the authenticity of a man’s confession, we have unwittingly placed ourselves in the position of kingmaker and gatekeeper. And neither of these belong to us. So what should we do when a pop icon professes faith in Jesus Christ? Often our immediate response reveals the hero-worship happening hearts, as well as our tendency to see ourselves as the gatekeepers to Jesus' kingdom.
