Pastor Dan Nichols
The purpose of the entire Bible, beginning to end, is to demonstrate a dilemma and show God’s response to it. That is, the Bible contains one big story that captures the resolution to a problem. This problem is that humanity can’t get itself back to God. We have done something so serious that it separated them from him, banishing us from his presence. That is what Genesis 3 is about, the fall of mankind, the rebellion of Adam.
Which is where Romans 8:29-30 comes in to play. In these two verses we see God drawing near to humanity. He approached. He sought us. Knowing that man could never work his way back into a relationship with him, the son came down. From heaven God came and sought his bride He planned a rescue. He pursued his people. He did everything necessary to reconcile with us. And He remains with us from now until eternity.
