Sermon Text: Hebrews 3:1-6
For all of history, humanity has been asking three questions: What can I identify? Who can I belong to? And what should I be doing? These are questions of identity, belonging, and purpose, and they act as divine echoes within the heart, causing chaos whenever they go unanswered and unmet.
In our passage, we see these questions answered as the preacher of Hebrews develops a doctrine of "God's House", of which Jesus is builder, architect, owner, and inhabitant. It is in the house of God that we find identity with Jesus, belonging with God's people, and purpose in life as we express faith and worship in the Messiah who lived, died, was buried and rose from the grave.
